Contemplating the Glory

2 Corinthians 3: 18: “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”- NKJV

Imagine a scenario, where you woke up to a world where the image seen on the mirror is unrecognizable. I believe such an incident would make a number of people uncomfortable. Since reflective surfaces enables us to gain a perspective of what we look like. And if this cannot be achieved, it would be reasonable to say that people would be disturbed.

For a long time, the mirror has come to be a necessary extra, of the things we utilize regularly. When we view our images on the mirror, it is easy to make necessary adjustments from what we’ve seen, so that we can look good and comfortable. However, this adjustments made can only be achieved if we have a clear image of ourselves.

As believers, our mirror is the word of God. With daily study, revelation truths are illuminated within our hearts by the Holy Spirit, which enables us to make the necessary adjustments in line with the truths revealed, which enables us become more like the wonderful image of the Father. However, when we stay away from the word, we begin to look malnourished and far from the image of the Father. Lack of fellowship: separates us, makes us look unrecognizable, and far from the image and glory of the Father.

This separation can be disturbing, because at such a point, all you see as an image is one that is vulnerable. You may try to mask this vulnerability through various theatrics, and for a while maybe deceive others, but what good is deceiving others, when all you need do is return with a repentant heart to the loving arms of the Father [Study the “The Father’s Love” for more details and “Who am I without the vine?”].

For you and me to become more like the glorious image of the Father, and by the Spirit grow in revelation truths, it is nonnegotiable that we study the word of God regularly and spend time in fellowship with the Father.

Enjoy a blessed day ahead.

Carpenter’s Son?

A preacher once gave an illustration of two friends, the first was struggling to make ends meet, while the second was a man who was respected in his field and had things going good for him, but whenever these two friends met each other in professional circles or in some social gathering, the first always pride himself when talking of the second by saying, “we’ve been buddies a long time, I know everything about him.” And to raise a few laughs, he’d say some loud remark, because he felt familiar with him. However, the people in such gatherings generally honoured the second. And though it seemed the comment of the first drew people to him, they only got to know him in order to connect with the second and move ahead, while the first remained where he was. The first was caught in this fixed scenario because he could not see past the cloud of familiarity between himself and the second. And this situation is similar to that which weighed down on the people in Jesus’ hometown. Co

The beauty of His house

“ Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess. 2. He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house. 3. Jesus has been found worthy of greater honour than Moses, just as the builder of a house has greater honour than the house itself. 4. For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. 5. Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house, testifying to what would be said in the future. 6. But Christ is faithful as a son over God’s house. And we are his house, if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast. ” – Hebrews 3: 1 – 6 (NIV).   In a generally sense, when a house is unkempt, it makes the owner or residents feel uncomfortable, and a major reason for this discomfort is in the fact that: the messy state in which the house is found diminishes the beauty of the house. For even if the house is a mansion,
